Aries ♈

In Western astrology, Aries belongs to the fire element and the group of "cardinal" signs, those that open each of the four seasons. Its ruling planet is Mars, associated with energy, action, and a conquering spirit — which, in astrological tradition, would explain the impulsive, driven temperament often attributed to this sign.

Aries is traditionally associated with qualities such as courage, spontaneity, and a strong taste for competition: it supposedly likes to be first, whether in a project, a conversation, or a race. This energy would also translate into a certain impatience, an outspoken bluntness, and difficulty tolerating waiting or indecision in others. In astrological belief, these traits would make it a naturally leading sign, though sometimes seen as abrupt by those around it.
