Question 1

How do I create a QR code for my Wi-Fi?

Accepted Answer

Enter your network name (SSID), password and security type (WPA/WPA2, WEP or none), then generate the code. It appears instantly and can be downloaded as PNG or copied for printing.

Question 2

Does the Wi-Fi QR code work on iPhone and Android?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Since iOS 11, the iPhone camera reads WIFI: QR codes directly, as does the native camera on Android 10 and later. On older Android versions, Google Lens can scan them.

Question 3

Does the QR code work with a WPA3 network?

Accepted Answer

The tool offers WPA/WPA2, WEP and open network. Most WPA3 networks run in WPA2/WPA3 transition mode: choose WPA/WPA2 in that case. For a WPA3-only network, connection depends on the phone's support.

Question 4

Is the Wi-Fi password visible in the QR code?

Accepted Answer

It is encoded in the QR code in the standard WIFI: format, but not encrypted. Anyone able to scan the code can retrieve it: avoid publicly displaying a QR code that grants access to a private or business network.

Question 5

Can I create a QR code for a hidden Wi-Fi network?

Accepted Answer

Yes, tick the Hidden network option. The information is included in the QR code so the device actively looks for the network instead of waiting for it to be broadcast.

Question 6

Is my Wi-Fi information sent to ForenShield?

Accepted Answer

No. Generation happens entirely in your browser: your SSID and password are neither sent to our servers nor stored.
