How is throughput measured?

The test measures throughput by downloading and uploading test files to reference servers, then calculates the average speed across several samples to compensate for network variation. Ping measurement uses HTTP requests to estimate round-trip latency.

Why do my results differ from carrier measurements?

Carrier tests measure from their internal infrastructure (optimized results). This test measures real-world performance from your browser, including DNS latency, internet routing and intermediate network congestion — more representative of your actual experience.

Are results saved?

The results of the current test are displayed in the interface. You can copy them to include in a network performance report. No measurement history is kept on our servers.
